Exporting

The global marketplace offers New York State companies opportunities to expand sales and increase profits.

Empire State Development's International Division can assist you to identify markets and help you find the appropriate distributors, representatives or partners through our network of ten foreign offices strategically located in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. They can be reached at 1-800-STATE-NY (1-800-782-8369), or at the New York City central office (212-803-2398).

The New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets serves agricultural producers. They promote agriculture through various industry and export development programs.

The New York State Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) are administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide management and assistance to current and prospective small business owners. SBDCs offer one-stop assistance to small businesses including exporting.

The Trade Information Center of the U.S. Department of Commerce is an especially helpful resource for exporters.

Direct technical assistance is also available from trade specialists in the U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Assistance Centers based in several office locations in New York State: New York City, White Plains, Long Island, Buffalo and Rochester.
